Interview Questions….

  1. What inspired you to become a writer?

An idea. Many say, “Write the books you want to read and for years, I wished that someone would release a book or movie that explored the possibilities of reincarnation. I came across a few reincarnation books that centered on star-crossed young soul mates with only flashbacks of one other past life.  I yearned for one that dug deep into all of the intricacies of many lives and many relationships. I wanted it to feel real. Therefore, I decided that I would write it.

  1. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I always wrote stories and poetry when I was young, but the love of animals swayed me to pursue animal behavior in college. Now that I’m a full time mom, the love of the written word has returned to me and I simply had to write.

  1. What genre(s) do you write? Why do you write the stories that you write?

My first series is a reincarnation fantasy series, but I’ve been dabbling with a fun YA paranormal.  I also have a few supernatural thriller outlines in the wings and even a sci-fi brewing. I don’t want to be restricted to one or two genres. I want the idea to inspire me and, wherever it takes me, I’ll follow.

  1. Where did the inspiration for your book come from?

Reincarnation has always fascinated me, partly from my curiosity for new age concepts and my draw to historic time periods. Now throw in the ability to leap through time with the same evolving group of characters, and bam…inspiration ignited and spread to the creation of the Infinite Series.

  1. How long did it take you to put the story together?

I started writing the series three years ago. When I write, I can’t stop. I write very quickly and I would be prolific at this point if I didn’t have to research so much. Still, I wrote the first ten lives (almost three books) in about a year and half. When I began the eleventh life, I realized that I should probably start thinking about publishing what I had. Another year and half of revising, workshopping, editing and then Infinite Sacrifice was released.

  1. Who is your favorite charter in your novel and why?

Oh, this is such a hard question to answer and not only because of course I love them all, but that my characters go through many changes as they progress through time.  They are all dynamic and realistically flawed, but I would have to say I enjoy writing the children and animals most of all. I love the way children look at the world and the pure loyalty of a little critter.

  1. What has surprised you the most about the whole processes of getting your book on the market?

How much work it is! I probably researched more about publishing than I did for my book and I still try to stay on top of all the fantastic self-publishing blogs out there to keep informed. For the first three months, I only made a few sales every week and didn’t have time to keep marketing my first book since I was struggling to get my second book out. Luckily, I saw that other self-published authors found success by making their first novel free and I decided to give it a shot. It has worked nicely for me and I’ll be continuing the promotion as long as my second book keeps selling.

  1. Would you like to share what the reviewers are saying about your book?

Here are a few lines taken from some of the editorial reviews I’ve received (but some of my favorite reviews come from my readers. If you’d like to read more, take a look at my Amazon page):

"If you enjoy history, read Infinite Sacrifice. If you enjoy reincarnation, read Infinite Sacrifice. If you want a unique, one-of-a-kind story, read Infinite Sacrifice. Or how about you just read Infinite Sacrifice? It's an absolutely amazing story! And, lucky for us, Infinite Devotion (the second book) is already out!"— Julie, Reading By The Beach

I really enjoyed this book. I'm a fan of historical fiction anyway and the idea of reincarnation is of interest, so I found this an interesting meld of the two. By the time I got to the end I was so engrossed with the progress through history that I'd almost forgotten about the context holding the stories together...This was a very good read that made me think, and I thought the magical realism surrounding Maya's arrival in "heaven" and how the process she finds herself going through works was well handled where it could have been fudged. I would definitely read the next in the series, Infinite Devotion."—TC, Booked Up

"This is not the first reincarnation romance I’ve read, but it’s the first with this unique approach. L.E. Waters placed some high bets in writing this piece, and I think that, for the most part, they’ve paid off. ...I truly enjoyed Infinite Sacrifice, I found the idea very original and the execution very well-handled. I certainly look forward to the next book." — Ron C. Nieto, Stories of My Life

"...the author delivers a very clever concept and brings an authentic feel to each story." — Craig, CS Fantasy Reviews

"First class works of historical fiction." — Boudica, SPR

  1. How many books have you written?

I’ve published two books: Infinite Sacrifice and Infinite Devotion.

  1. What are you working on next?

I’m knee-deep in the third book of the series, Infinite Loss. I’m hoping to publish it by the January.

  1. What do you like to do for fun when you’re not writing?

I love just being outside, be it beach, woods, snow, garden, or ocean. I tend to write more in bad weather since I don’t feel as guilty holing up with my laptop indoors.

  1. How can readers contact you?

Email: lewaters777(at)yahoo(dot)com.

  1.  When does your book go on sale and where can we buy it?

It’s already on sale…and FREE! If you like to give Infinite Sacrifice a shot, you can find it here:

  1. Last but not least is there anything that you would like to add?

Thank you to all my readers who have been so kind to leave reviews. Not only do they help market my book, but more importantly, they inspire and touch me. In addition, thank you, Leigh, for having me here on your blog and thank you for the fantastic interview. It was so much fun!

Book Description:

"Maya’s shocked to discover it’s not the heaven she imagined; in fact, a life of adventure begins the moment you die.

Zachariah, her faithful spirit guide, explains the rules of the dead: in order to regain complete awareness and reunite with loved ones all souls must review their previous lives.

Maya plunges warily into her turbulent pasts as a sociopathic High Priest in ancient Egypt; an independent mother protecting a dangerous secret in glorious Sparta; an Irish boy kidnapped and enslaved by Vikings; and a doctor’s wife forced to make an ethical stand in plague-ridden England.

All the while, Maya yearns to be with those she cares about most and worries that she hasn’t learned all of heaven’s most vital lessons. Will she be forced to leave the tranquility of heaven to survive yet another painful and tumultuous life? Or worse, accept the bitter reality of having to go back alone?"

Excerpt:

"He dies before dawn. Covering him with a shroud, I tuck a coin in his hand for burial. I take a black flag from a vacant house to signal Ulric. Instead of returning to the abbey, I walk down to the river to watch the sunrise. A cold breeze blows, and I pull my hands within the fluted sleeves of my cloak. The giant sun breaks the horizon with an ember glow, causing everything around me to burn red. Even the river shimmers crimson. Something catches my eye—objects drifting on the surface, breaking the reflection of the water in flashes. I bring my hand up to shield the glare, and I'm horrified to see dozens of naked, bloated, blue bodies floating down the Thames.
I turn to walk home as someone screams out, shattering the silence of the city, "The Apocalypse is here!"
    He might just be right."
