Interview Questions….

     1.      What inspired you to become a writer?

I’ve always been a writer, but it took me until I was 30-years-old to become an author.  I started writing romance stories when I was in junior high school, but I didn’t seek publication until I was an adult.

     2.      When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

The summer I turned 13 I wrote a science fiction story and my cousins loved it.  They encouraged me.  My first novel was awful…think blue lagoon meets star wars!

     3.      What genre(s) do you write? Why do you write the stories that you write?

I’ve always loved the idea of far away planets.  I write a lot of science fiction romance, but I also write paranormal, urban fantasy, contemporary, and erotica

     4.      Where did the inspiration for your book come from?

Everything inspires me.  King of Time was inspired by the idea that love can transcend death and if you lived forever you’re heart would be the same even when the world around you changed.  A Gift of the Darkest Magic explores just how much my character trusts her commitment to her man.

      5.      How long did it take you to put the story together?

I usually write a novella each month, a novel will take two or three months.

      6.      Can you share a little about your novel with us?
A Gift of the Darkest Magic:

Would you be willing to betray the person you love in order to save their life?

Clarissa's husband Matt is dying of cancer. They've tried everything that medicine has to offer, both traditional and experimental, and nothing's worked. Clarissa spends her days in the hospital, watching the man she loves slip closer and closer to certain death.

When her sister tells her she knows a way to save Matt, but it involves visiting a local club run by vampires, Clarissa is outraged that her sister would believe something so insane. But then she learns the truth.

Braden, the sexy and mysterious vampire who runs the club, does indeed have the means to save Matt, but he demands a high payment in return. He doesn't want money, her blood, or even her life…he wants something she never expected. Clarissa has a choice—spend twenty-four hours in Braden's bed or let her husband die.

But what she never foresaw was how much more the vampire would truly want after he'd given her the gift of the darkest magic.

King of Time:

Death—Thanatos has walked the Earth for centuries. One woman stirs his passion and obsesses his immortal heart. Nyssa. Lifetime after lifetime he loses his love due to the vengefulness of fate. Sleep—Hypnos is Thanatos’s brother also loves Nyssa. Together they will battle time to unravel the fabric of fate in an attempt to give Nyssa one more lifetime and a chance to fulfill her destiny.

      7.      Who is your favorite charter in your novel and why?

Clarissa was one of my favorites to write.  I liked that she was spunky when she had to be, but her sorrow was real.  She had to do what she did to save her family, but also had real guilt.

     8.      Now that your book is getting ready to hit the stores describe how you feel in one sentence?

Awesometastic!

      9.      What has surprised you the most about the whole processes of getting your book on the market?

How hard it is to spread the word.  There are so many books it can be hard to reach new readers.

     10.  Would you like to share what the reviewers are saying about your book?

Here’s a review on Amazon for King of Time.
This was a good read. Not too sappy, and the story was interesting. I enjoy Greek Mythology. It was fun to read something fresh and unique. The story is about a woman named Nyssa and the two Greek gods who are fighting for her love, and to keep her alive. The book traveled back into the past and then back into the recent past. The ending was unexpected. I'd suggest reading this book to anyone looking for something new.

      11.  How many books have you written?

I’ve written over 50 eBooks in various lengths with many publishers.  Here’s the link to my author page on Amazon it’s easier. http://amazon.com/author/ashlynnmonroe

      12.  What are you working on next?

I’m working on my next book in the Aurora series from Changeling Press.

     13.  What do you like to do for fun when you’re not writing?

Check, my ranks on Amazon…just kidding.  I love movies, reading, and biking.

     14.  How can readers contact you?

Book Review for A Gift of Darkest Magic and King of Time

Review by Leigh Savage:

This book was a unexpected surprise for me it’s not your typical love story; however the deep love Clarissa feels for her husband is so strong she’s willing to risk it all to save her husband’s life even if that means she’d lose his love forever at least he’d still be alive.

Braden is can’t believe the boldness, the love and the honesty that pours out of Clarissa as she declares that she’s willing to do anything to get the gift of his life saving blood even if it meant sacrificing her own life but Braden has something else in mind.

Clarissa’s dilemma was an impossible choice and a brave one for no matter which choose she made she stood a chance of losing something dear to her.

Braden’s gift of his blood and his awaking emotions made him feel alive once more but would he be willing to give that feeling up as he’d promised or would he demand more.

Matt’s survives the cancer but would he be able to forgive what Clarissa had done to save his life.

I enjoyed the story a great deal it was very different from many other vampire stories I’ve read.  It was a quick read I was done with the book before I knew it and I would recommend this read to anyone who wants a little a lot of spice and something different to read not the same old boring stories retold.

Review by Leigh Savage:

Two immortal brothers in a contestant battle to win a mortal woman’s heart.  Even though Nyssa always chooses the same way the other brother never gives up the battle to try to win and win he has the power to slip in and out of her dreams he doesn’t always play fair.  Regardless of the brother’s battle over her heart they come together when it comes to standing up against the fates that would time and time again cause Nyssa a painful untimely death out of pure vengeance against Thanatos choosing a mortal woman over her.

From the first chapter I was hooked I could feel the deep sadness Thanatos felt at watching the one he loved die over and over again and every time was a tragic untimely death.  The story was compelling and I wanted so badly for Thanatos to find his happily ever after and that kept me reading right on through the book and before I knew it the story was over.  It was a beautiful love story full of obstacles, betrayal and most of all a pure deep love that transcended time.
